Material and Processing

The Susy splashback is made of borosilicate glass, which has among its qualities that it is a harder and stronger material that requires more heat to process. The advantage of this material is definitely a glass with a cleaner, bubble-free crystal (typical of working with Murano glass).

The Master Glassmaker, uses the most classic technique to obtain a hollow object. Blowing constitutes one of the most revolutionary inventions in glassmaking technique and in this case he achieves it by means of a flame, which heats a borosilicate glass vial and, through blowing, allows the glass to open and be workable to give it the appropriate shape and size. Next, the piece is allowed to cool inside a furnace, which will slowly bring the object to room temperature. The gold wire decoration is done at the end of the process with an 18-karat pure gold enamel.
